Hans Maurer was an Anabaptist martyr, from Flass, a village in Tyrol, Austria, Bozen district, and was taken to Gufidaun with six other brethren, including Christian Alseider and Valtin Gsäl and executed there in October 1536. In prison they wrote several letters to their brethren, two of which have been preserved.
