Pöggstall (Peckstall), a village northwest of Melk in Lower Austria, became the center of an Anabaptist congregation, which was gathered by Georg Fasser, who had just been released from prison in Mödling. He was captured and suffered a martyr's death in 1537 or 1538. The rec­ords do not agree on the date or the method of execution.
