Sarah Loewen Plett: wife, mother, and pioneer immigrant, was born on 12 September 1822 in Lindenau, Molotschna Colony, Russia, to Isaak and Margaretha (Wiens) Loewen. She was the sixth of 15 children in the family. Sarah was baptized in the Kleine Gemeinde church in 1841. On 26 October 1841, she married Cornelius Plett (1820-1900) in Lindenau. In 1854 Sarah and Cornelius Plett moved to Kleefeld, Molotschna Colony and in 1872 they moved to Blumenhof, Borozenko Colony. The couple had 16 children, four of whom died as children and another two of whom died quite young. The family immigrated to Canada on 18 June 1875. Sarah died on 3 March 1903 in Blumenort, Manitoba.
