Aldekerk was a village about ten miles northwest of Krefeld, Germany, from which the first Mennonites moved to Krefeld in 1609. Hermann op den Graeff, for example, who stemmed from Aldekerk, became a citizen of Kempen in 1605, and from there went to Krefeld. The Krefeld de Greiff family does not come from Aldekerk as is asserted in the Mennonitisches Lexikon, but from Niedersaulheim.
