Judith Lubbertsdochter, b. 21 December 1601 at [[Amsterdam (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Amsterdam]], d. there about 1670, was baptized in 1618 upon confession of faith in the Amsterdam [[Waterlanders|Waterlander]] congregation. She was an unlettered and simple woman, earning her living by darning hose. About 1628 she moved to [[Alkmaar (Noord Holland, Netherlands)|Alkmaar]] and became engaged to [[Schabaelje, Jan Philipsz (Philipsen) (ca. 1585-1656)|Jan Philips Schabaelje]], but this engagement was broken off about a year later. Judith returned to Amsterdam, left the Mennonite Church, and became a member of the [[Roman Catholic Church|Roman Catholic Church]] by rebaptism.
