Jacob Klaasz (Klaese, Klaase) (d. February 1658), was elder of the [[Frisian Mennonites|Frisian]] congregation of West-Zaandam 1609-1658 and also served the Frisian congregation of Westzaan; in 1640 he had some difficulties at the conference of Frisian churches in [[North Holland (Netherlands)|North Holland]] because contrary to the conservative views of most Frisian congregations, he was willing to promote a union with the [[Flemish Mennonites|Flemish Mennonites]], whom he esteemed as good Christians just as well as the Frisians.
