Buckeye Mennonite Mission (Mennonite Church) was established as a mission among African American migrants in the the Phoenix, Arizona area in 1952 by the Sunnyslope Mennonite Church. A meetinghouse was built later and Johnwilliam Boyer was ordained as pastor in 1955. In 1958 Boyer had 12 members under his care.
The congregation was last listed in the Mennonite Yearbook in 1979. At that time the pastor was John Walters; there was a membership of 16.
