Western Book and Publishing Company was organized by H. P. Krehbiel when he moved the Review to Newton, Kansas, from Canton, Ohio in December 1900 and bought the rights to Das Kansas Volksblatt from the Kansan Company which had acquired this periodical from W. J. Krehbiel and David Goerz in 1899.

H. P. Krehbiel, manager, was joined by C. E. Krehbiel in 1901, who served as secretary of the company. The Review was continued through 1904.
