Dionysius Vinne, one of the [[Wassenberger Prädikanten|Wassenberg preachers]], born at Diest in [[Brabant (Belgium/Netherlands)|Brabant]], was won to Lutheranism by 1523 in [[Antwerp (Belgium)|Antwerp]], later betook himself to [[Jülich (Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany)|Jülich]]. With brief interruptions he zealously preached the new doctrine in Wassenberg, Hongen, and especially Süstern. On 17 September 1532, he went to [[Münster Anabaptists|Münster]] in [[Westphalia (Germany)|Westphalia]], was baptized there on 5 January 1534, and appointed to the office of apostle. On 13 October 1534, he was sent as an apostle to [[Osnabrück (Niedersachsen, Germany)|Osnabrück]], where he was immediately arrested. Vinne and four other apostles were executed at Iburg, one died in prison, and one, i.e., [[Graess, Heinrich (16th century)|Graess]], was par­doned.

With brief interruptions he zealously preached the new doctrine in Wassenberg, Hongen, and especially Süstern. On 17 September 1532, he went to Münster in Westphalia, was baptized there on 5 January 1534, and appointed to the office of apostle. On 13 October 1534, he was sent as an apostle to Osnabrück, where he was immediately arrested. Vinne and four other apostles were executed at Iburg, one died in prison, and one, i.e., Graess, was par­doned.
