The Groene Kruis (Green Cross) was a Dutch society founded in 1900 by the Mennonite pastor [[Fleischer, Frederik Cornelis (1863-1929)|F. C. Fleischer]] and Willem Poolman, a physician from The Hague. This association, which was founded for the purpose of improvement of health and domestic nursing, in the course of the years developed into a large organization. In 1978 the Groene Kruis merged with the Oranje-Groene Kruis and the Wit-Gele Kruis to form the Nationale Kruisvereniging (NK).
