Ellert (Ellart) Jans, an Anabaptist martyr, a tailor of [[Woerden (Zuid-Holland, Netherlands)|Woerden]], Dutch province of South Holland, baptized by [[Gillis van Aken (ca. 1500-1557)|Gillis van Aken]], was executed by burning at the stake with five men and two women of the same faith at [[Amsterdam (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Amsterdam]] on 20 March 1549.
