Claes Arentsz, Elder of the Flemish Mennonite church of [[Zijpe (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Nieuwe Zijpe]] in the [[Netherlands|Netherlands]], had spoken slightingly of [[Infant Baptism|infant baptism]] while performing a baptismal service at [[De Waal (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|de Waal]] on the island of [[Texel (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Texel]]on 3 March 1649.
