Pulesar Bai was a Bible woman (lay evangelist) with the American Mennonite Mission and the Mennonite Church (MC) in India. Her parents were Baganath and Tulsi Bai, a Hindu family who lived at Umaradah near Dhamtari. She received a primary education in Dhamtari at a Hindu school and later completed the seventh class at the Balodgahan Girls' Boarding where she became a Christian. She was sent to the Disciples of Christ Female Training School in Bilaspur for Bible training.
