The Park at Sherwood Park, AB began services in 1988. Harold and Marilyn Block are considered the founding leaders of the group. The congregation originated through outreach by the Northwest Mennonite Conference and the Mennonite Board of Missions (Elkhart, Indiana, USA).
Harold and Marilyn Block began church-planting efforts in the Sherwood Park area of Edmonton in the spring of 1988. The first worship service was held Sept. 25. A telecomputer system is used to evangelize in the community.
In 1995 there were no members. The congregation has been affiliated with the Northwest Mennonite Conference and the Mennonite Church. The language of worship is English.
