Hans Bauer (Baur), b. 1670 or 1671 at Oberhofen in [[Switzerland|Switzerland]], was married to Anna Willener of Sigriswil (b. 1678) on 19 February 1702. Both joined the Mennonites, Hans not until 1711. In 1711 they lived at Courbes above Landeron in the [[Neuchâtel (Switzerland)|canton of Neuchâtel]]. They were well-to-do. Hans Bauer died before 1751; his wife, who was still living in 1738, preceded him in death.
