Johannes Acronius, a physician and mathematician, was born in 1520 at Akkrum (Dutch province of Friesland) and died 18 October 1564 at Basel. He was a friend of David Joris, published Joris's ideas in forty-five aphrorisms and also an account of his life and court trial, titled Ad N.N. popularem epistola, d.d. 28 Julii 1559.
