Agape Fellowship House Churches began as a weekly Bible study in 1976 in London, Ontario, Canada at the initiative of Alvin Roth, just retired as Director of Mission Services in London. The Bible studies developed into a house church model of weekly fellowship and worship. During these years it received financial assistance from the Inter-Mennonite Mission and Service Board in Ontario.
The outreach was directed at vulnerable persons living in London's inner city. Many participants were supported by Ontario government social assistance, and programs included a food pantry and weekly potluck dinners for participants.
In fall 1988 the house churches began to meet for Sunday morning worship as Agape Fellowship, with the house churches continuing. In 1989, the fellowship became a member of the new Mennonite Conference of Eastern Canada. In the fall of 2004, the house church portion of the program ended, and in 2005, the continuing Agape Fellowship began to meet at Valleyview Mennonite Church in London.
Agape Fellowship finally ended on 14 July 2024.
