The Midway Mennonite Church in Pekin, Illinois, began in 1950 as a Sunday school outreach of the Hopedale Mennonite Church. It dedicated a new church building on Highway 29, two miles south of Pekin, on 25 January 1953.
Howard Wittrig was a lay leader in the mission until he was ordained as its pastor in 1955. He was the only pastor to serve the congregation, which closed in November 1989.
