Canal Winchester, a town in northeastern Fairfield County, Ohio, near which a Mennonite settlement was started about 1842 by settlers from Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Their church, however, and perhaps the settlement, was located across the county line west in Franklin County. The congregation is reported by Daniel Kauffman to have had as many as 60 members, but it had become extinct before the publishing of the Hartzler and Kauffman Mennonite Church History in 1905. This was possibly the Bowman congregation.
