The Grant Mennonite Church east of Ulysses, Grant County, Kansas, USA was established in 1927. The congregation started when families began to move to the area in 1926.
There was no school in the immediate area, so local members arranged to build a school that could also serve as a church. This was done in 1927, about the time that Minister Sam Nichols moved to the area. The dust storms of the Depression caused most families, including the pastor, to move away by 1937. The few remaining families held services about once a month for a number of years.
In September 1949 the remaining 16 members merged with the Salem Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, located 40 miles away. This relationship continued until 1960 when the Grant County members received permission to again meet separately. They first met in a local school but then built their own church building in early 1961. It was dedicated on 7 May 1961. A new church building was erected in 1975.
In the late 1980s, the Grant congregation assisted in the formation of the Lakin Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, located some 30 miles north of the Grant church.
In 1978 the congregation began the Western Plains Christian School in the church building. It built a separate school building the following year and added classrooms and an assembly hall in 1990.
In 2020 the congregation was part of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The ministers were Stuart Jantzen and Denton Koehn.
