The Sunnyslope Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation at Linden, Alberta had its beginning in January 1992 when members of the Linden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite met in the Sunnyslope Hall to organize. A few days later a group met at the Swalwell Hall to organize a new congregation there. They believed churches that were smaller fared better spiritually. All those interested in the new congregations were asked to decide on their church within six months. Sixty-six members chose Sunnyslope. Minister Henry "Hank" Enns and Deacon Leonard Loewen served as the first ordained leaders.
