Pleasant View Home (originally Home for the Aged, located in Inman, Kansas) was founded in 1946, when Mrs. Maria Vogt, a 72-year-old resident of the Inman community, offered her ten-room residence to the churches of the community as a home for aged people. An organization was formed and plans were made to remodel and enlarge the house, to make room for 15 residents and about 5 workers. The home was controlled by a board of nine members, who appointed a management committee of three to supervise the work. Most of the contributions and the larger number of residents came from seven of the Mennonite churches of this area, representing three conferences. The home was dedicated on 15 June 1947. Residents paid for their rooms and care, so that the home was largely self-supporting.

Over time the home developed into a retirement community. Pleasant View Properties is a growing and progressive retirement community. The campus in 2008 was composed of 124 licensed and Medicaid certified nursing beds, 12 units for the lower income (rentals), 7 duplexes, one four-plex, one single unit, and 68 congregate living units that are attached to the nursing home. In 2008 the complex provided housing for approximately 250 people and employed approximately 200 staff.
