The congregation has been affiliated with the Evangelical Mennonite Conference since 1967. The language of worship is English.

The congregation began services in 1964, and formally organized in 1966. The first building was occupied in 1967, with a subsequent building program in 1982. Melvin Koop is considered the founding leader of the group.

The congregation was known as St. Charles Fellowship until 1966 when a new building was constructed. It began as a Vacation Bible School and Sunday School outreach by the young people of the Kleefeld Evangelical Mennonite Church.
