Laux Vischer, a potter, guildmaster of the carpenters in Augsburg, united with the Anabaptists and was taken prisoner, put in chains, and expelled from the city on 18 October 1527, together with Eitelhans Langenmantel, Endres Widholz, Gall Fischer, Peter Schleppach, Hans Kissling, and Ulrich Eckart. Vischer was also made to pay a fine, which was put into the alms fund. He is designated as "one of the chief adherents and promoters of Anabaptism."
