Hans Scheffer, an Anabaptist martyr of Hastungsfeld, a village on the Hörselberg near Eisenach, Germany, who was seized with Hans Köhler in November 1537, as they were conversing with Fritz Erbe, who was a prisoner. They were executed in Eisenach at the end of January. The record of the trial contains their remarkable confession of faith.
