Frans Claesz, an Anabaptist martyr, a native of Hallum, Dutch province of Friesland, was beheaded at the Frisian capital Leeuwarden on 8 February 1539, with four others, because he had been rebaptized, and had "a bad opinion of the Holy Sacrament and the constitution of the Holy (Roman Catholic) Church."
