Christian Brügger, one of the "leading Anabaptists and rabble-rousers" from Rohrbach in the canton of Bern, participated in the disputation at Zofingen (1-9 July 1532), and was afterwards arrested. For identification and probably to sign the records of the disputation he was taken to Aarau. Here he was told that if he "renounced his sect" he would be released; if not he would be banished and if he returned, drowned. When he returned he was again imprisoned. Nothing more is known of him.
