Hans Beck (Beckh), an Anabaptist martyr, was executed with the sword in 1532 at Sterzing on the Eisack in Tyrol with five fellow believers (Lambrecht Gruber, Peter Hungerl, Peter PlanerLorenz Schuster, and Hans Thaler) because they remained true to their faith. From prison they wrote letters to the churches in Moravia, which have been preserved.
