Barvenkovo, a city of about 14,000 inhabitants with (1914) 216 Mennonites on the Torets River in the Russian province of [[Kharkov (Ukraine)|Kharkov]] (now Ukrainian province of Kharkiv), where Mennonites from the [[Chortitza Mennonite Settlement (Zaporizhia Oblast, Ukraine)|Chortitza]] and [[Molotschna Mennonite Settlement (Zaporizhia Oblast, Ukraine)|Molotschna]] colonies settled in 1889.
