Veit Pilgrims (Fitus tho Pilgrams), an Anabaptist martyr, a native of South Germany, who was apprehended in 1532 and imprisoned at Gladbach, then belonging to Jülich, Germany. By the aid of friends he was able to escape from prison. But he continued his activity and was again arrested. After being cruelly tortured he was burned at the stake at Gladbach in 1537, because he loyally confessed his faith.
