Cornelis Cornelisz (Cornelis de Gijselaer in Martyrs’ Mirror), was an Anabaptist martyr. He was arrested when a meeting of many Mennonites at Klundert was surprised on 5 August 1571 (not 1572, as Martyrs’ Mirror states). He was a well-to-do citizen of Dordrecht (Dutch province of South Holland), 40 years old, and a cloth shearer by trade. He had married the widow of the martyr Valerius de Schoolmeester. Some years previously he had been rebaptized near Emden in East Friesland by a preacher called "Leenaertsoen" (perhaps Leenaert Bouwens) Several times he was tortured, but he remained true to his faith and was executed, apparently in October 1571.
