Hans Taler (Thaler, Taller), an Anabaptist martyr, was put to death at Stertzing in Tyrol (formerly Austria, now Italy) in 1532 with Lambrecht Gruber, Hans Beck, Laurenz Schumacher, Peter Planer, and Peter Hungerl. They were tortured, but still persisted in their faith and were therefore sentenced to death.
