Barent Dircksz (also called Doove Barent), a Dutch painter, who made six large panels for the old town hall in Amsterdam, representing the revolt of the Anabaptists (Wederdooper-oproer) in this city 10-11 May 1535. These pictures were moved to the new town hall in 1655, but shortly after vanished without a trace. A sketch of the pictures is found in the Library of the University of Göttingen, Germany.
