Schermerhorn, a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland, formerly situated beside Lake Schermer, which was reclaimed in 1632-35. A Waterlander congregation existing here sent delegates to the Waterlander conference at Amsterdam 4-7 March 1581. A letter of 1673 mentions the congregation of (Groot) Schermer, which probably means Schermerhorn. There is no further information about this congregation; it very probably died out or merged with a neighboring congregation soon after, at least before 1700.
