Der Säemann was a 4-page 6x9 monthly Mennonite publication started in April 1897 under the name <em>Säemann</em>, by the Salem Publishing Concern, Hillsboro, KS as a "Biblical, unsectarian leaflet." Jacob F. Wiebe (Krimmer Mennonite Brethren Church) was the publisher. By 1913 the place of publication was [[Lehigh (Kansas, USA)|Lehigh, KS]], and the size of the paper had been enlarged to 9x12 inches. Some of the printing was done in the Christliches Verlagshaus, Erfurt, Germany. What is more confusing, there are also some issues entitled <em>Der kleine Säemann</em>, of which Jacob J. Wiebe, Jr., was the editor and publisher, who was also connected with the publishing of <em>Der Säemann</em>. He died in Hillsboro in 1958. Mennonite Library and Archives (North Newton, Kansas, USA) has the second volume, January to December 1899, of <em>Der kleine Säemann</em> and an incomplete set of <em>Der Säemann</em> spread over 16 volumes, 1897-1912. J. J.
