Joost Willemsz Nieukerck was born in 1587 at Nijkerk, in the Dutch province of [[Gelderland (Netherlands)|Gelderland]], and he died in 1645 in [[Amsterdam (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Amsterdam]].
