Adamites (Adamieten), the name given a group of Anabaptists in a book by Azend van Buchell (Buchelius), Descriptio urbis Rheno-Trajectinae, written in 1592, published in part in Utrecht in 1801, 53 pages. He was probably referring to the followers of Adam Pastor (also Diarium of Arend van Buchell, published in Amsterdam, 1907, 289). Cornelis Adriaensz (Brother Cornelis), the fanatical opponent of the Anabaptists in Flanders, also speaks of the Adamites (Historie en wonderbare Sermonen II, Brugge, 484-487).
