The Parkland Community Church began services in 1983, and formally organized in 1984. The first building was occupied in 1985. John H. Wiens is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through outreach the Saskatchewan Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.

In 1985 there were 23 members; in 1994, 10; in 2000, 14; in 2010, 53. The congregation has been affiliated with the Saskatchewan Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. The language of worship is English.

Henry Penner served as interim pastor from 2001 to 2003, when Harv Janzen became pastor. Brian Ray became pastor of the church in December 2009.
