Herman Boetje, son of [[Boetje, Gerrit Jochems (d. 1854)|G. J. Herman Boetje, son of G. J. Boetje, was born in 1846 at Knollendam and studied at the university and Mennonite seminary at Amsterdam. He became a minister in 1870; served at the Mennonite congregations at Appelsga, 1871-1873; Franeker, 1873-1879; and Hengelo, 1879-1911; and after this lived at Arnhem, where he died 13 August 1937. He wrote Tafereelen uit het leven van Jezus (Scenes from the Life of Jesus), 1875. In collaboration with J.
