Rudolf Suhner, a young Mennonite, was arrested ca. 1643 and imprisoned in the Oethenbach tower at Zürich, Switzerland. After some time he recanted and was released, but soon deplored his apostasy. As a result of this "backsliding" he was arrested again and died in prison.
