C. A. Posjager was a Dutch Mennonite preacher of the Waterlander branch, serving at Noordeind van Graft. In collaboration with E. A. van Dooregeest, the Mennonite preacher of neighboring De Rijp, he published a book for the use of Mennonite sailors, who were numerous in the congregations of De Rijp and Graft, and who often had to leave their home towns for long periods when they sailed for herring fishing or for whaling as far as Greenland. This book is entitled Ryper Zeepostil (Amsterdam, 1699). It contains twenty-two sermons, a number of prayers, and a short history of Holland, especially of the hometowns of the sailors, Schermer, Graft, and De Rijp. Concerning Posjager there is no further information. He is supposed to have been the son of Albert Cornelisz Posjager, who was probably also a Mennonite preacher at Noordeind van Graft, and who was once in 1655 for some unknown reason fined by the magistrate when he was preaching in De Rijp. Posjager died about 1730. | C. A. Posjager was a Dutch Mennonite preacher of the Waterlander branch, serving at Noordeind van Graft.
