Trijntje Dircxd., of Dorsten, an Anabaptist martyr, sentenced at Amsterdam on 15 January 1550, to death by drowning. She was the wife of Peter Jansen, and according to her confession had been (re) baptized by Elder Gillis van Aken. In the account of the city treasurer of Amsterdam there is the note that on 17 January 1550, Anna van Dorsten and Anna Boens were "executed with water," and also that Floris Engelbrechts was paid 19 schellingen (about two dollars) for converting these two women and for confessing them. If Anna van Dorsten is an error for Trijntje van Dorsten, this woman and Anna Boens (Anneken Boens) recanted. The matter is not quite clear, however, since it is also possible that the Anna van Dorsten of the treasurer's account is identical with Anneken Gerytsdochter van Dordrecht, and Anna Boens with Leentgen (or Lysken) Boens who lost her mind in prison.
