Part I of the book contains the introduction, dated 1 January 1601, 254 hymns in alphabetic order; Part II, with introduction, dated Haerlem, 30 August 1601, also in alphabetic order, songs Nos. 255-379; Part III, not in alphabetic order, Nos. 380-421 (the last hymn of this part, No. 421, composed by Leenaert Clock himself, is dated Schoonhoven July 1, 1616); Part IV, 14 hymns numbered 1-14. | From this title we learn that there was also a Cleyn Liedeboeck by L. Het Groote Liede-boeck, van L. C, a Dutch hymnary of which Leenaert (Leonhard) Clock is the compiler, edition, which appeared at Leeuwarden in 1625. The (abbreviated) title reads as follows: Het Groote Liedeboeck van L. C, Inhoudende Veelderhande Schriftuyrlijcke Liedekens, Vermaningen, Leeringen, Ghebeden ende Lojsangen . . . mitsgaders het tweede Liedeboecxken van ghelijcken Propooste, ghenaemt Een Hell Cymbaelken des Juychens, waer by nu nieuws ghecomen is het derde Liedeboecx-ken . . . ghenoemt het nieuwe Hell Cymbaelken des Juychens . . . , mitsgaders Noch ses (liedekens) uyt het cleyn Liedt-boeck van L. C. Item veerthien van andere verscheydene personen.
From this title we learn that there was also a Cleyn Liedeboeck by L. C, but no copy of it is extant. The 1625 edition of the Groot Liedeboeck apparently was not the first edition.
