Jan Claesz, an Anabaptist martyr, a native of Weesp, an unmarried man who lived at Rarop in the Dutch province of North Holland. He cheerfully confessed his faith and was therefore burned at the stake at the Muiden castle near Amsterdam in 1569 together with Thijs Jeuriaensz.
