The Jemaat Kristen Indonesia Maranatha in Reseda, [[California (USA)|California]], began in 1989 as a church plant of the [[Southwest Mennonite Conference (Mennonite Church)|Southwest Mennonite Conference]] of the [[Mennonite Church (MC)]]. By the early 1990s, it also identified itself as the Maranatha Indonesian Christian Fellowship. Later, it dropped the "Indonesian" as it aspired to be a multicultural church.

By the 2020s, services were also conducted in English.

In 2023, the Fellowship withdrew from the [[Pacific Southwest Mennonite Conference (Mennonite Church USA)|Pacific Southwest Mennonite Conference]] of [[Mennonite Church USA]] and joined [[LMC: a Fellowship of Anabaptist Churches]].
