Das Kansas Volksblatt, was first published by W. J. Krehbiel and [[Goerz, David (1849-1914)|David Goerz]] about 1897. In April 1899, the Newton Kansan Company bought the Kansas Volhsblatt from W. J. Krehbiel, and D. R. Krehbiel became its editor. It was then sold to the [[Western Book and Publishing Company (Newton, Kansas)|Western Book and Publishing Company]] in April 1901; in the following year it was combined with the Hillsboro Post and called [[Post und Volksblatt (Periodical)|Post und Volkblatt]].
