Brieven, a Dutch periodical published by the Vereniging voor Doopsgezind Broederschapswerk, formerly called the Vereniging voor Gemeentedagen. This periodical was distinctive, especially so in the early years, in that it was composed mostly of letters from readers. The first issue appeared May 1918. Initially the issues appeared irregularly, and from January 1925 to April 1942 the Brieven appeared monthly; after this date they were discontinued by order of the German military authorities.
