Hans Bauer (d. 1749), a native of [[Switzerland|Switzerland]], went with other Mennonites to [[Pennsylvania (USA)|Pennsylvania]] between 1711 and 1717, and was one of the first settlers of Hereford Township, [[Berks County (Pennsylvania, USA)|Berks County]], near [[Bally (Pennsylvania, USA)|Bally]], with many descendants among the American Mennonites of today. His grave, without a monument, can still be identified in the Schwenckfeld [[Cemeteries|cemetery]] near Clayton, Pennsylvania. His wife Anna (d. 1761) is also buried there.
