&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt; Almanacs, yearly publications containing calendars and usually additional information on holidays, beginnings of the seasons, the phases of the moon, etc., as well as religious articles and secular information of value to the home or farm, have been widely used in Mennonite homes. Both [[Denominationalism|denominational]] and secular almanacs were used extensively by Mennonites, one of the most popular being [[Baer, John (1797-1858)|Baer's]] &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;Agricultural almanac&amp;lt;/em&amp;gt; published at [[Lancaster (Pennsylvania, USA)|Lancaster]], [[Pennsylvania (USA)|Pennsylvania]], since 1825.&lt;br /&gt;

Funk &amp;amp;amp; Brother|John F. Funk and Brother]] press. The &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;[[Christlicher Familien-Kalender (Periodical)|Christlicher Familien-Kalender]]&amp;lt;/em&amp;gt; published by [[Goerz, David (1849-1914)|David Goerz]], [[Halstead (Kansas, USA) |Halstead]], [[Kansas (USA)|Kansas]], first appeared in 1885 but in 1886 became the &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;[[Bundesbote-Kalender (Periodical)|Bundesbote-Kalender]]&amp;lt;/em&amp;gt;. The German &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;[[Christlicher Gemeinde-Kalender (Periodical)|Christlicher Gemeinde-Kalender]]&amp;lt;/em&amp;gt; first printed in Frankfurt, [[Germany|Germany]], appeared in 1892. The &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;Mennonite year book and almanac&amp;lt;/em&amp;gt; printed by N. S. Stauffer, [[Quakertown (Pennsylvania, USA)|Quakertown]], Pennsylvania, had its first issue in 1895. The &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;[[Christlicher Familienkalender (Periodical)|Christlicher Familienkalender für die Deutschen in Russland]]&amp;lt;/em&amp;gt; appeared in 1897. The first [[Doopsgezind Jaarboekje|&amp;amp;lt;em&amp;amp;gt;Doopsgezind Jaarboekje&amp;amp;lt;/em&amp;amp;gt;]] was published in 1901 for the calendar year 1902. The [[Mennonite Yearbook and Directory|&amp;amp;lt;em&amp;amp;gt;Mennonite year-book and directory&amp;amp;lt;/em&amp;amp;gt;]] carried the date 1905 on its first issue. The &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;Year book of the Central Conference of Mennonites&amp;lt;/em&amp;gt; appeared in 1922. The Mennonite Brethren published their first [[Vorwärts-Kalender|&amp;amp;lt;em&amp;amp;gt;Vorwärts-Kalender&amp;amp;lt;/em&amp;amp;gt;]] for 1925. The [[Neue amerikanische Calender, Der (Periodical)|&amp;amp;lt;em&amp;amp;gt;Neue Amerikanische Calender&amp;amp;lt;/em&amp;amp;gt;]], privately printed and serving an Old Order Amish Mennonite constituency, was first published in 1930 and continued in 2009, along with an English version which began in 1970.&lt;br /&gt;

Except for the last Amish publication, after the 1950s Mennonites no longer published almanacs that included calendars with signs of the zodiac, moon phases or other information common in popularly-published almanacs.&lt;br /&gt;
