George D. Troyer was a missionary physician in India ([[Madhya Pradesh State (India)|Madhya Pradesh]], 1923-1936) and [[Puerto Rico|Puerto Rico ]] (1944-1967) with [[Mennonite Board of Missions (Mennonite Church)|Mennonite Board of Missions]] ([[Mennonite Church (MC)|Mennonite Church]]). He was born in Kokomo, Indiana, the last of 29 siblings. He was the only one in his family to attend college. He graduated from the Chicago Medical School in 1922. He married [[Troyer, Kathryn Sommers (1893-1973)|Kathryn Sommers]] on 12 July 1914. Their four children, B. Nortell Troyer, Dana O. Troyer, Annabelle Troyer Greaser, and G. Weldon Troyer, all served overseas with Mennonite Board of Missions.
